In 2015, Paul Hansbarger couldn't find a diaper bag that he actually wanted to carry around as a new dad, so he created a simple canvas and leather tote that would get the job done, but look good, too. Soon, friends and family started requesting a bag of their own.

 

So, in 2016, Paul launched his first collection of durable, timeless bags, handmade from waxed cotton canvas and full-grain leather. Over the years, Lineage has expanded its collection of bags, but each one is still made in the workshop, now located in Richmond, Va.  You can find their second location at 3106 W. Cary Street.

 

In addition to their handmade bags, Lineage also carries their own line of hand-poured candles, as well as a curated collection of thoughtfully designed goods from more than 100 small brands, local makers, and artisans.
